About The Role

As an Account Executive, you will be expected to support on various different client accounts with brainstorming, writing up concepts and campaign plans, campaign research, and writing content (for onsite and the press). You may also be asked to lead on some smaller projects if you feel ready to do so. 

You’ll also be expected to prepare well-researched media lists and pitch stories via email.  

Keeping on top of what’s being talked about in the news and on social media is key for this role, as it will help you come up with good campaign ideas.

Furthermore, keeping account managers up to date on your activity and results, meeting deadlines and completing admin are tasks (such as timesheets) are also expected. 

Account Executive's also typically get involved in some client communication such as preparing detailed reports and status updates and providing updates on calls when relevant or appropriate.

Day to Day Client Responsibilities

  • Keeping yourself well-informed of ‘hot’ topics in the media and on social media and sharing these around the team 
  • Coming up with well-considered ideas based on supplied briefs 
  • Helping coordinate brainstorms, and select the strongest ideas (with guidance) 
  • Helping write up idea concept slides 
  • Helping suss out potential production timings for roadmaps 
  • Helping write up campaign proposals 
  • Helping determine the best sources of data for a potential campaign (some initial feasibility checking) 
  • Helping with desk research for campaigns 
  • Helping draft and analyse survey questions  
  • Helping to determine key findings and strongest media angles 
  • Writing up press releases and onsite content 
  • Preparing well-researched media lists and keeping these updated 
  • Pitching to press via email and responding to Response Source requests  
  • Writing design briefs for our studio team
  • Helping with auditing and research for strategy development  
  • Leveraging media contacts / relationships and tools to get feedback, and seek out new opportunities for clients  
  • Finding and logging new results
  • Preparing status reports / campaign wrap-up reports for specific clients 
  • Keeping notes on client calls if requested  
  • Providing updates on calls and asking questions about results / activity if required 

Team / 121 / Admin Responsibilities

  • Supporting colleagues by offering help when you have time and sharing great media contacts / feedback / opportunities 
  • Doing your timesheets every day 
  • Sharing ‘end of day’ update emails
  • Updating your 121 form ahead of meetings 
  • Following holiday booking and handover processes 
  • Completing your Task Manager hours at the end of the month 
  • Accurately logging results in the PR Hub 
  • Creating case studies or blogs for marketing (when feasible / requested) 
  • Helping proof colleagues’ work for spelling mistakes / typos 
  • Helping mentor or train work experience / more junior colleagues 

Progression Expectations

  • Consistently good results (with results across multiple clients rather than just one or two) 
  • Deadlines met – activity delivered in line with roadmaps that you may have helped coordinate 
  • Evidence of well researched contributions to brainstorms 
  • Evidence of good writing skills for core PR assets 
  • Evidence of an ability to run some small projects / campaigns with support or guidance from an Account Manager or Account Director
  • Evidence of good research skills – understanding how to run a survey, and what ‘free’ data sources we could use

  • Evidence of an understanding of internal cost per link and cost per results targets 
  • Evidence of an ability to mentor others in how to use key PR tools
